Kremp
didn’t miss the opportunity to show Philadelphia television viewers his
shop’s commitment to deliver every single order — even those requests
that arrive on Valentine’s Day morning.
The owner of Kremp Florist in Philadelphia, Pa., hooked ABC-affiliate
reporter Karen Rogers with an
e-mail mentioning how many jobs were created for the holiday. “I wanted
to spark some interest so, knowing we are in a tough economy, we
explained that, between drivers, sales reps and designers, we employed
more than 150 extra people for the first two weeks of February,” Kremp
said.
Taking “about 20 minutes” from his most chaotic day of the year, Kremp
gave Rogers a glimpse of the logistics necessary for a flower shop to
manage such a high-volume day.
“This morning is probably our busiest two-hour period of business for
the entire year,” a smiling Kremp told Rogers. While accompanying a
delivery driver to capture firsthand reactions from happy recipients,
the reporter emphasized that the florist hired more than 100 extra
employees to make it possible.
